The License Subsystem
Bitplane uses FLEXlm as the license subsystem for all its Windows products with the exception of Huygens and ImageAccess.
Please note: Changes to FLEXlm settings may affect all software packages that use this license manager whether or not they have been provided by Bitplane. If you are already using another software packages with FLEXlm, then just add the Bitplane licenses to whichever file isis the file currently used by FLEXlm.
Obtaining and Installing License for Bitplane Software
In order to prepare a permanent license for our users, Bitplane needs the "hostid" of your computer. The easiest way to get the hostID is to download Imaris version 3.1.1 or later and start it (Vvisit our
to receive licenses.
Important Note: The HostID may change if you unplug your computer from the LAN. Therefore, please make sure that the computer is plugged into the network before you startstarting Imaris.
Wait until you receive the licenses by E-mailemail from Bitplane and proceed as follows if you received them:
- If you received the licenses as text file then, store this text file in the folder called "Bitplane" which is located within your "program" folder. If you received the licenses as simple text, then copy/paste them into a text file and store that file in the above location.
- Start Imaris and click the button "Specify License File" (see above).
- Proceed as described below:
The License Finder dialog lets you choose the source for the licenses. which can either
Choose "License server" if you have a floating licenses server or choose "License File" for activating a node-locked workstation specific license.
