The following pages assess the handiness in the visualization functions of Imaris 2.7 and Imaris 3.0. While of subordinate importance in light microscopy of cellular non-periodic structures it is of outstanding importance in molecular structure analysis and the analysis of periodic structure.
1. The Test Picture

(if you can read Eva, the squares should be covered partly by the name,
as they are on bottom of the name-box). |

Summary
- Imaris 3.0 is correct in all views and definitions
!
- The 3D-view in both Imaris 2.7 and 3.0 is
consistently right-handed.
- Isosurface in Imaris 2.7 produces the same
orientation like Volume rendering => right-handed
- The gallery in both Imaris 2.7 and 3.0 has
the same view.
- The gallery definition in Imaris 2.7 is incorrect:
Layer 0 is NOT on the top of the 3D-stack, but on bottom (like in Imaris
3.0)!
- The section view in Imaris 2.7 is incorrect (it
matches with the incorrect definition of laye
